This just explains briefly what each config is for:
installcd-2.6.15.3-G5.config - the kernel the release media was built with
new-G5 - an updated config of the above. Use this for subsequent releases
installcd-2.6.15.3-power.config - ibm hardware (all)
xserv - deprecated. keeping only for historical
